Information

Thanks to the LED technology, the enormously energy-efficient HALBE illuminating frames can present transparent images impressively, but they are also in demand as puristic light panels. The LEDs create an incomparably homogeneous illuminated area with a low power consumption.

For example: a 50 x 50 cm format requires only about 10 watts. This is an excellent value for an efficient and environmentally sound light fixture.

The LED illuminating frame is available in three different luminous colours: daylight-white (6500 K), neutral-white (5000 K) and warm-white (3000 K). Thus, you can determine the effect for the particular environment exactly how you want it.

We recommend translucent motifs, such as slides or images printed digitally with the inkjet process. In case of picture motifs in a large quantity the use of film offset printing or the screen printing method may be worth it. We would be pleased to advise you if there is uncertainty about the lighting effect of a particular image on your part. We would be happy to advise you if there is uncertainty about the possible printing methods on your part or if you want to print on thicker materials than film, for example glass painting or similar material.

The 25 mm wide frame profile consists of AluNox which combines the visual properties of polished stainless steel with the advantages of aluminium. This premium material is easy to clean, resistant to household cleaners and UV rays and non-sensitive to fingerprints. In addition, the LED magnetic frame is available with a narrower Alu 15 profile in a natural matt anodised finish. For individual projects, RAL surface colours are also available.

Thanks to our modern manufacturing technology, there are no standard sizes, instead we produce – of course on the basis of our proven magnetic frame principle – individually according your wishes. You determine the height and width of the LED illuminating frame yourself.

Plexiglass Gallery® UV 100 III, IV

Plexiglass is especially shatter-proof and also protects delicate exhibits against ultraviolet radiation by virtue of its low light transmission. The disadvantages of plexiglass are its low scratch resistance and the somewhat more laborious care with a special antistatic cleaner. The appropriate cleaning agents can be found in our range of accessories.

Optiwhite float glass V, VI

The right choice if a very good, neutral colour reproduction is required. With the Optiwhite float glass VI which is very finely frosted on one side, you have the additional advantage that the contour sharpness of the picture is visibly better than in the case of the antireflective varieties made of float glass or plexiglass.

Mirogard®

Schott Mirogard®, specialty glass with optical-interference antireflective coating, thickness 3.0 mm

Mirogard® is a specialty glass with optical-interference antireflective coating on both sides. This means: It is colourless, free of annoying reflections and therefore as good as invisible. One aspect to keep in mind with this high-quality glass type: There should be no distracting effects of light in the surrounding area, such as a window on the opposite side of the picture.

Safety glass ESG glossy

ESG glossy, thickness 4 mm
Single-layer safety glass is a thermally toughened glass which has a higher break and impact resistance. If the glass should nevertheless break due to high stress, it will split into small particles without sharp edges. The risk of injury compared to normal float glass varieties is significantly reduced in this way.

If, in addition to the advantages of the toughened safety glass, a reflection-reducing view is desired at the same time, then this glass type is the right choice. We have this ESG type produced with the same antireflective surface and glass quality as our float glass II.

Safety glass VSG glossy

VSG glossy, thickness 6 mm
In contrast to the toughened safety glass, the laminated safety glass (VSG) is a composite of 2 glass panes with a thickness of 3 mm each and a PVB film lying inbetween. Due to this thermally created composite, the splitting into small particles in case of a glass breakage is prevented since the VSG binds all glass splinters in the event of a breakage.

Picture safety device 1

This system allows the unobtrusive protection of the picture in the frame. Here, the profile frame is bolted to the base element at the top and at the bottom. The small screws can only be removed with a special tool which is included in the scope of delivery.

The picture safety device BS 1 is appropriate for: Classic magnetic frame, Distance magnetic frame, LED magnetic frame and Passepartout magnetic frame.

Picture safety device 4

The special feature of this picture safety device is that it is locked by means of a special key in the centre hole of the base element – alternatively at the top, at the bottom or in both centre holes. Using the picture safety device in the lower centre hole is recommended together with the simultaneous use of picture hooks in the two upper hanging holes.

The picture safety device BS 4 is appropriate for:
Classic magnetic frame, Distance magnetic frame, Passepartout magnetic frame and the new Protect magnetic frame.

Picture safety device SL

As an alternative to the picture safety device BS 3 or BS 4, we also fabricate our magnetic frames with a keyhole picture safety device (BS SL). The frame is protected against inadvertent dropping or simple removal from the wall. With the required knowledge, however, it can be removed without tools from the keyhole position on the wall. The 4 necessary screws and universal dowels are included in the scope of delivery.

The picture safety device BS SL is appropriate for:
Display magnetic frame, LED magnetic frame, B1 magnetic frame, Conservo magnetic frame and the new Protect magnetic frame.

A specially laser-treated light dispersion panel made from plexiglass with integrated LEDs ensures the bright and uniform illumination of the area. The principle of the edge lighting allows a high degree of efficiency and a particularly homogeneous illuminated area. Every one of our LED illuminating frames is equipped with "truLED" – a plexiglass cover which makes the LEDs and the light conducting structures invisible.

The LED illuminating frame comes with a power supply unit (12 V) and is supplied on request in a size of up to 1 x 2 m. For most illuminating panels you only need a socket. As an alternative to the plug-in power supply you can also order a concealed power supply unit in order to then switch your illuminating frame on and off via the light switch as usual.
An external power supply unit is only required for extra large XL formats with a side length of 1.2 m or more (width or height). This must be taken into account during planning. We will be happy to advise you.

Luminous colours

The luminous colour of the LEDs has a significant influence on the perception of the illuminated area. Daylight-white (6500 K) or neutral-white (5000 K) are the most popular luminous colours for applications with or without picture motif. Warm-white (3000 K) can also be an interesting option in certain cases – for example for illuminating through stained glass or if the frame is used as a wall luminaire without a motif (illustration from left to right: daylight-white, neutral-white, warm-white).
