For the perfect view
Replacement glass
To ensure that your pictures show to optimal advantage, you can select from several glass types for your magnetic frame: float glass, Gallery® plexiglass, Optiwhite float glass, the optical interference anti-reflective Schott Mirogard or the safety glass. The individual glass types differ with respect to the colour rendering of the picture, the susceptibility to breakage of the glass as well as the protection of the picture against effects of ultraviolet radiation. On request, our magnetic frames can also be supplied with other glass types such as Mirogard Protect, crystal mirror, or without glass.

Float glass
Float glass is the first choice for your magnetic frames if there are no above average requirements regarding the glass quality. When the contour sharpness of the image is to be accentuated better, a glass which is glossy on both sides is recommended. In contrast, frosted glass reduces the reflections. A combination of both properties is offered by our one-sided finely frosted Optiwhite float glass or – depending on the exhibition environment and the budget – the Mirogard® glass.

Plexiglass Gallery UV 100
Plexiglass is especially shatter-proof and also protects delicate exhibits against ultraviolet radiation to a very high degree by virtue of its low light transmission. The disadvantage of plexiglass is its low scratch resistance and the somewhat more laborious care with a special antistatic cleaner. The appropriate cleaning agents can be found in our range of accessories.
Available on request:
Plexiglass Gallery UV 100 MR with more scratch resistant surface coating.

Optiwhite float glass
The right choice if a very good, neutral colour reproduction is required. With the Optiwhite float glass VI frosted on one side, you have the additional advantage that the contour sharpness of the picture is visibly better than in the case of the anti-reflective varieties made of float glass or plexiglass.

Schott Mirogard
Schott Mirogard® is a specialty glass with optical-interference anti-reflective coating on both sides. This means: It is colourless, free of annoying reflections and therefore as good as invisible. The reduced reflection is achieved here not by the roughness of the glass surface, instead it is produced with the aid of a dip coating facility for optical coatings. One aspect to keep in mind with this high-quality glass type: There should be no distracting effects of light in the surrounding area, in particular no window on the opposite side of the picture (in this case we recommend our Optiwhite float glass VI). Also available on request are the specialty glasses Mirogard® plus and Mirogard® Protect by Schott.
Safety glass
ESG glossy, thickness 4 mm
Single-layer safety glass is a thermally toughened glass which has a higher break and impact resistance. If the glass should nevertheless break due to high stress, it will split into small particles without sharp edges. The risk of injury compared to normal float glass varieties is significantly reduced in this way.
ESG single-sided matt, thickness 4 mm
If, in addition to the advantages of the toughened safety glass, a reflection-reducing view is desired at the same time, then this glass type is the right choice. We have this ESG type produced with the same anti-reflection surface and glass quality as our float glass II.
VSG glossy, thickness 6 mm
In contrast to the toughened safety glass, the laminated safety glass (VSG) is a composite of 2 glass panes with a thickness of 3 mm each and a PVB film lying inbetween. Due to this thermally created composite, the splitting into small particles in case of a glass breakage is prevented since the VSG binds all glass splinters in the event of a breakage.
