Through the tireless inventive spirit of Hubert and Heinrich HALBE the magnetic frame was developed in 1973 - at that time only as an aluminium frame. 25 years ago Heinrich HALBE succeeded in developing the first high-quality magnetic frame made of solid wood, which met the high quality demands for protection and comfort. On the occasion of the wooden frame anniversary at HALBE, the popular ash wood with its characterful grain was added to the portfolio as a filigree wooden frame in the colours natural, white and black.
Wooden frames - the classic in interiors
What underlines the effect of small and large works of art more than a stylish frame that sets the picture perfectly in scene? Wooden frames not only look fantastic, but their individual structure underlines the uniqueness of the artwork and makes it a real eye-catcher. As early as 1946, the first simple frames were made of wood. In 1973, Heinrich HALBE was sitting at a drawing board doing assignments for technical college. The paper was held on the drawing board by magnets. Heinrich HALBE came up with a brilliant idea that has shaped the company's history to this day. Together with his father Hubert HALBE he developed the first magnetic frame made of aluminium and applied for a patent. Within a few years, the aluminium frame became the epitome of the highest possible quality among art connoisseurs worldwide, as it combines the best possible protection with easy picture replacement from the front as well as timeless design with many years of durability.

As the well-known saying goes "a rolling stone gathers no moss" - so Heinrich HALBE never gave up developing the magnetic frame further and kept thinking about real wood profile strips. In 1995, the design was ready for the first wooden magnetic frame that lived up to the quality promise of HALBE frames. The ash tree can grow up to 300 years old and 35 - 40 metres high. This makes it one of the tallest deciduous trees in our forests. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the wooden magnetic frames, HALBE is now including the solid wood edition ash in its range. It is offered as a filigree 13 mm wooden strip in natural as well as white and black for the production of individual magnetic frames up to the format 100 x 140 cm with different glass qualities. A strip of natural ash is ideal for framing landscape photographs, graphics and works of art in bold colours. What's more, ash is absolutely trendy - furniture designers are increasingly turning to ash for the latest home trends. The wood colour is slightly lighter than oak and stronger than maple. The natural ash wood character is particularly accentuated on coloured walls.
