Glass
For the invisible protection of your picture
Sustainability is also very important to us, which is why the leftovers are melted down again to make new glass. A special feature of this station is our grinding and washing facility. It is one of the most modern in Europe. Anyone who has ever cleaned windows knows how difficult it is to achieve a streak-free shine - we can do it thanks to this unit.

I've been with the company since 1984. After my carpentry apprenticeship, I came to HALBE through my mother, who had been with the company for almost 25 years. I actually only wanted to work at HALBE as a transition until I joined the German Armed Forces - the transition has been going on for more than 35 years now. I started out in the basic elements team. I then sawed Plexiglas panes to size. I later worked in dispatch before moving to the glass department, where I have been for many years now. I attach great importance to cleanliness, flawless glass and satisfied customers.
My favorite frame is an illuminated frame, which I always fill with my latest photos. For me, the best moments are the ones where humor is not neglected despite all the work involved.
We are Dirk, Anne, Winni and Georg and we provide a clear view with almost 100 years of combined experience. We cut optimized offcuts for all frames. First the glass is scored and then broken. After breaking, the edges are razor-sharp. To ensure that you do not cut yourself when removing or inserting the glass, all edges are ground and then washed. After washing, we check each pane for possible defects, quality and cleanliness. Special care is then taken to ensure that no new fingerprints are left and that the frame is immediately ready for framing and hanging - without additional cleaning.

I've been working here since October 1993, having joined the company through my brother. At the beginning I worked in final assembly and now I've been responsible for your glass for almost 27 years. One of the special moments of the year is definitely April 1st, when you have to be on your guard. It is very important to me that we deliver clean, precisely cut and flawless glass.
My favorite frame is not limited to one, so over the years a photo wall has developed that consists of many different small frames.

I have been working for the company since 1989. My connection to HALBE came about through our mutual acquaintance Hugo HALBE. My tasks include care the outdoor facilities, bending the sheet metal for the sheet metal angles and now the glass. Cleanliness, speedy work and friendship are very important to me. So my 25th anniversary was a particularly nice moment.
I have one of the first passepartout frames hanging at home, which I still love.

I've been at HALBE since 2023 - and in that time I've worked in almost all departments, with one exception: the wood division. The move to HALBE was actually only temporary, but after a short time it was clear that I wanted to stay. What is particularly important to me at work? That every frame leaves the company in top quality. I myself attach great importance to clean, careful work and punctuality - because good craftsmanship requires not only skill, but also reliability. Whether assembly, inspection or packaging - each station brings its own challenges. And that's exactly what makes the working day so varied.
Even though I haven't been to the wood department yet, I really like the wooden frames. They look warm, natural and simply fit everywhere - real favorites!
