Photo Corners: For a successful mounting
Photo corners are usually small plastic corners with a self-adhesive back. Attached to two or all four corners of a photo, you can quickly mount your pictures in a picture frame or photo album. At HALBE you can get transparent photo corners for small or large photo montages. These transparent, self-adhesive photo corners have an acid-free archive quality and are PAT-tested. In addition to the classic polypropylene (plastic) photo corners, you can also get paper photo corners. The natural white photo archive paper from KLUG, from which the photo corners are made, comes without optical brighteners. To fix the photo corners on the background cardboard you need a self-adhesive folding paper.
Used correctly, photo corners have several advantages:
- No damage or adhesive residue on the image
- Pictures can be easily detached and rearranged again
- Conservation is easier, as the photos do not come into contact with the adhesive
Adhesive tape: the best possible mounting of your picture
Adhesive tapes for picture frames or for picture mounting are often used for permanent mounting. If you want to mount a full-surface glue or, for example, a base in the frame, then the adhesive tape is the right choice. Depending on the type of mounting, you can choose from different adhesive tapes for your pictures. The double-sided Herma adhesive tape or a Tyvek adhesive tape are well suited for a photo mounting with V-fold or T-fold. This type of mounting is often used for larger pictures when it needs to be securely mounted on one side, but full surface lamination is not an option. This is because once the tape is firmly pressed on, the image is almost impossible to remove from it and could leave damage. This will give you the best advice for the ideal photo montage.
Photo glue - handy in a glue roller or cardboard dispenser
For quick and easy mounting of your pictures, so-called photo glue or glue dispensers are ideal. The practical Herma photo glue in a cardboard dispenser is ideal for permanent fixing at specific points. This contains 500 ready-to-adhere adhesive strips in 12 x 17 mm format. The self-adhesive paper cuttings are covered on one side with a protective paper, with a peel-off tab for easy removal. A removable version is offered by the Gudy Dot Roller photo glue. With this practical glue roller, individual transparent glue dots can be applied quickly and precisely. It is also acid-free, solvent-free, ageing-resistant and has passed the PAT test according to ISO 18932.
