Artglass by Groglass is a high-quality white glass for the true to original presentation of works of art. Thanks to its anti-reflective coating, it is hardly noticeable in indirect lighting. The AR 92 and AR 99 Protect versions are suitable for conservation framing due to their particularly high UV protection.
Artglass is characterized by the best colour reproduction, contour sharpness and contrasts. It minimises reflections to less than 1 %.
The anti-reflective surface is permanently applied using the energy-efficient sputtering process. The glass remains smooth - in contrast to glass that has been matt-finished by roughening.
For optimal effect, the picture frame should not be hung opposite a window or directly illuminated. Even with the strong anti-reflective coating, greenish residual reflections are possible then.
Artglass should be carefully cleaned with water or a suitable glass cleaner (we recommend Cif Professional). This is because cleaning residues are more visible than with other types of glass. To remove visible streaks, we recommend a mixture of 1 part spirit and 10 parts water.
Artglass AR 70 The 3 millimetre thick glass offers excellent anti-reflective properties, genuine colour reproduction and very good contour sharpness and contrast, as well as 70% UV protection. The colour of the residual reflection corresponds to that of Mirogard.
Artglass AR 92 with high UV protection With a thickness of only 3 millimetres, this glass type combines excellent anti-reflective properties, true colour reproduction as well as a UV protection of 92%. It is ideal for conservation framing. The colour of the residual reflection corresponds to that of Mirogard plus.
Artglass AR99 Protect with very high UV protection This shatterproof laminated safety glass is only 4.4 millimetres thick and consists of two panes with an elastic and tear-resistant film on the inside. This prevents the glass from shattering into small pieces in the event of breakage. This is because large fragments adhere almost flat to it and remain in the frame. Thus, the protection of the work can be ensured. Long-lasting colour stability of works of art is ensured by the high UV protection of approx. 99 %. The colour of the residual reflection corresponds to that of AR 70 and Mirogard Protect.
