Advantages:

Artglass from Groglass is a high-quality white glass for the faithful representation of works of art. Thanks to its anti-reflective coating, it is barely perceptible in indirect lighting. The AR 92 and AR 99 Protect versions are suitable for conservation framing due to their particularly high UV protection.

Optics:

Artglass is characterized by excellent colour rendering, contour sharpness and contrast. It minimizes reflections to less than 1 percent.

Structure:

The reflection-reduced surface is permanently applied using the energy-efficient sputtering process. The glass remains smooth - unlike glass that has been frosted by roughening.

Note:

For optimum display, the picture frame should not be hung opposite a window or directly illuminated. Despite the strong anti-reflective coating, residual greenish reflections are possible.

Cleaning:

Artglass should be carefully cleaned with water or a suitable glass cleaner (we recommend  CifProfessional). This is because cleaning residues are more visible than with other types of glass. To remove visible streaks, we recommend a mixture of 1 part spirit and 10 parts water.

Versions:

Artglass AR 70
The 3 millimetre thick museum glass offers excellent anti-reflective properties, unadulterated color reproduction and very good contour sharpness and contrast, as well as 70% UV protection. The colour residual reflection corresponds to that of Mirogard.

Artglass AR 92 with high UV protection
With a thickness of just 3 millimetres, this museum glass combines excellent anti-reflective properties, unadulterated color reproduction and 92% UV protection. It is ideal for conservation framing. The colour residual reflection corresponds to that of Mirogard plus.

Artglass AR99 Protect VSG with very high UV protection
This shatterproof laminated safety glass is just 4.4 millimetres thick and consists of two panes with an elastic and tear-resistant film on the inside. This prevents the glass from shattering into small pieces in the event of breakage. This is because large fragments adhere to it almost flat and thus remain in the frame. This ensures that the work is protected. The high UV protection of approx. 99 percent ensures long-lasting color fidelity of works of art. The colour residual reflection corresponds to that of AR 70 and Mirogard Protect.
