HALBE presents: Tom Jacobi - "Into the Light" at the photo festival "horizonte zingst"
Kirchen, May 26, 2018 - On May 26, the environmental photo festival "horizonte zingst" will take place for the 11th time. The environmental photo festival is one of the meeting places for photography enthusiasts. The focus is not only on the variety of different photographs, but also on the special flair and the unique experience that "horizonte zingst" brings every year. Until 3 June, visitors can meet photographers with big names or be inspired by amateur photographers. The program is wide-ranging and leaves nothing to be desired. The majority of the outstanding photographs have always been exhibited in HALBE magnetic frames. This year we are especially pleased to frame and present the impressive works of Tom Jacobi in the exhibition "Into the Light".
"Into the light"
With "Into the Light" Tom Jacobi presents archaic landscapes that seem to stop time for a brief moment. The motifs were created on a journey through seven different continents. The focus is particularly on the unique effect of the colour white, which stands as a symbol for stability and hope. The photographs seem to be filled with light and radiate an atmospheric mood. In this way, his landscape pictures honour nature and planet earth. The photographs are exhibited in the Max Hünten Haus in Zingst, in white aluminium frames from HALBE.

The BFF Sponsorship Award
In the context of the "Umweltfotofestival" (environment photo festival) the award ceremony of the BFF Promotion Prize will take place. The prize of the Federal Association of Freelance Photographers and Film Designers offers 15 students the opportunity, accompanied by experienced mentors, to develop and implement an application-related photographic concept. The topic is deliberately kept open. The participants should deal with ecological, economic or cultural issues in a professional manner. The ten best photographic works will be presented at "horizonte zingst". The three best results will then receive the BFF Promotion Prize. This prize is intended to promote young photographers and prepare them for the professional world, thus providing a practical supplement to the content of their studies. The three winners will receive prizes worth 6,000 euros donated by BFF premium partner OLYMPUS.
