Tip: The colour of the passepartout should be a shade darker or more yellow than the paper of the picture. This makes the picture look whiter, fresher and newer.
The cutting technique of the passepartout should also not be underestimated. Diagonally cut passepartout edges look particularly elegant. Unusual framing, such as using a passepartout in landscape format in a portrait format frame, exudes a certain charm. "Care must be taken to ensure that the framing never dominates the picture, so that the owner can enjoy his work of art for a long time," emphasizes David Halbe, Managing Director of HALBE-Rahmen GmbH. "We therefore only use certified mounts from Klug-Conservation, which are acid-free and age-resistant."
