Frame and usage

To meet the requirements of conservators and museums with particularly valuable and delicate light three-dimensional art, the properties of two proven HALBE frame types have been combined and optimized. The result: our CONSERVO-DISTANCE magnetic frame.

While the CONSERVO magnetic frame already meets highest conservational demands, the CONSERVO-DISTANCE takes it up a notch! The standard delivery includes magnetically removable spacer strips underneath the glass. Also, the base element behind the inserted KLUG corrugated cardboard is not open like with the CONSERVO magnetic frame, but fully closed all round with an anodized aluminum sheet – for optimal flatness, excellent stability and optionally more insertion depth.

Our standard CONSERVO-DISTANCE is delivered with KLUG corrugated cardboard under magnetic spacer strips. The insertion depth under the spacer strips is then 0-2 mm. You can increase the insertion depth yourself by later removing the loosely inserted cardboard. Or you can request an increased insertion depth with your order (subject to profile type and glass thickness). Due to the rear aluminium wall the frame remains stable even without the cardboard and provides a flat surface for a picture, carton or passepartout.

Appearance and Measurements

The subtle design is available in aluminium or solid wood – both in a range of different profiles and colours. The spacer strips are available in a white tone, matte silver or black – to easily match the colours of the frame and carton / passepartout. Preview your currently configured product in 3D!

The CONSERVO-DISTANCE magnetic frame can be ordered online in 40 standard formats or custom-made with precise measurements from 130 x 130 mm up to 1200 x 1400 mm. Contact us for larger XL formats.

Installation and Safety

For fast and safe vertical or horizontal hanging, the back side is equipped with special hanging holes for horizontal levelling with crooked nails. To protect the wall and for better air circulation, four height-adjustable wall spacers made of felt are placed in the corners to create enough distance. They are free from harmful plasticizers and leave no residues on the wall. On request, you can order the dustproof frame with the HALBE BS 1 R and BS 4 picture safety locks – ideally in combination to fix the frame to the wall and to protect the frame against unauthorized opening.
