Advantages:

With a thickness of 3.0 mm, the inexpensive HALBE standard glass is more stable in comparison. This is because only 2.0 mm thick panes are usually used. Normal glass is suitable for all framing without requirements for UV protection, safety and excellent image display.

Optics:

Due to its iron oxide content, normal glass has a slight green tint. As a result, its color reproduction is not absolutely true to the original.

Versions:

The normal glass is available in two versions: normal glass glossy (glass 1) and normal glass matt/glossy (glass 2). These have different properties in terms of contour sharpness and anti-reflective effect

Structure:

Normal glass is completely flat and fire-polished. This is because the molten glass is continuously fed from one side onto a bath of molten tin during its manufacture. Its cut edges are polished, making it safe to cut. The glass is supplied in a washed condition.

Note:

Due to its low protection against UV light, normal glass is not recommended for conservation framing.

Cleaning:

The rather insensitive normal glass can be easily cleaned with water or commercially available glass cleaner.
