HALBE receives prize at the German Design Award 2016
New HALBE magnetic frame wins international premium award for excellent product design at the German Design Award 2016.
Kirchen – Selected by the Rat für Formgebung (design council), the German Design Award gives prizes to outstanding German and international design products. The design by Heinrich Halbe was awarded with the award for Excellent Product Design – Home Textiles and Home Accessories.
"I have asked myself how the classic picture frame can respond to the trend of borderless design“, says Heinrich Halbe about his plans. „The picture frames should unite all our functions with a slim and flat profile.“
The jury's explanation for its nomination of the Alu 4 magnetic frame: "The elegant Alu 4 magnetic frame with its minimal design serves as a subtle border between the picture and its environment. Besides its clear design, the sophisticated frame construction impresses with the glass being almost flush-fitted to the profile, which makes it seem like an even surface".
