About the exhibition "Beyond the Shadows"
Leigh Schneider's exhibition "Beyond the Shadows" reveals her vision for transformation and growth in a world overshadowed by current circumstances. In her debut exhibition, Schneider explores themes of loss, isolation, and depression, inviting viewers to explore the symbolism of her paintings, which point a way toward a hopeful future. Through her art, she raises awareness of the possibility of change and encourages people to look beyond their current circumstances and seek new perspectives.
The "Beyond the Shadows" series is a powerful statement by the artist and her way of inspiring viewers to overcome the shadows and step into the bright future .
Each image tells its own story about mental health issues. A key feature of her work is the use of elements of the natural world that relate to the inner world. Elements of plants and animals create a resonance that penetrates deeply into the emotional and spiritual self.
"Beyond the Shadows" was first exhibited in January 2023 at the Quirky Fox art gallery in New Zealand.

Frames in action
The photographs are framed in Classic frames consisting of 14 aluminium strips in matt black. Matt Mirogard glass was used.
The photographs were framed together with a natural white passepartout: The black frame is restrained, offering the photographs in the black frame is understated, but also provides the perfect stage for the photographs in combination with the passepartout. In her blog post Schneider shares how she framed the images for her exhibition "Beyond the Shadows".
