What is a mount?
A mount is a cardboard with one or more cut-outs that is placed between the picture and the glass. The use of a mount opens up additional possibilities for design during the framing process and refines the overall effect of the picture. Furthermore, it enables an optimal adaptation of smaller pictures to already existing frames: In this way, you create the perfect stage for every work of art! Due to the distance between the glass and the picture, the cardboard offers an important protective function during conservational framing.
Mounts at HALBE
Every picture is unique and deserves an individually tailored mount made to measure. Whether classic or extravagant: With our wide range of options, you can design your desired mount at HALBE entirely according to your ideas.
You have the option of ordering the cardboard in thicknesses of 1.5 or 3 mm in the HALBE online shop. online shop. In addition, you can choose between five different colour shades: We offer three shades of white (White, Antique white and Natural white) as well as the colours grey and black. White is the lightest of the three shades of white and is therefore ideal for paper work with a high degree of whiteness, among other things. For warm-toned paper, on the other hand, we recommend Antique White or Natural White. Our light grey tone is suitable for colourful tones, but also black and white images. The tone is neutral, but still more striking than a plain white. Our black is always used when the border of the picture should not look light, but dark and achromatic.
But how can I order my desired passepartout with exact dimensions? Simple cut-outs that are to be placed in the center, the optical center or in the ratio of the golden section can be ordered conveniently online via our configurator dimensionally accurate.
More sophisticated cuts, such as the multiple cutout, can only be ordered directly through our customer service. They give us the opportunity to create a collage with as many impressions as possible in a small space: whether vacation impressions, a collage of the family or other beautiful memories - with multiple cutouts there are no limits.
If you would like to order a mount with multiple cut-outs, please send us a hand sketch or a DXF or DWG drawing with all cut-outs as well as border and web widths to info@halbe.de. However, the bar should have a minimum width of 20 mm for stability reasons, and even more for larger formats if necessary. We charge an additional € 1 for each cutout. For stability reasons, shipping is in some cases only possible in combination with a picture frame.
