Profile and colour overview
You have the choice between aluminium picture frames and high-quality wooden frames made of solid wood strips covered with precious wood veneer. Depending on the size of the frame, you can choose from different square and rounded profile sizes, as well as from 15 different colours.
Please note: Due to different screen calibrations, differences in the perceived frame color may occur. Depending on the desired frame format and material, some color and profile combinations may not be available. These will then be hidden during the ordering process.
Aluminium profiles
Profile comparison
Silver matt
An aluminum frame classic: Silver matte, also called natural matte, puts the focus on the picture and almost always inconspicuously adapts to the surroundings. The matte anodized surface is available for any HALBE aluminum profile.
White matt
White is a dominating colour, whether as a paper tone or natural wall paint. With the white matte surface this frame leaves the stage completely to the picture.
Black matt
There couldn’t be a frame more clearly demarcating the picture from its surroundings than a black frame. An all-time classic in picture framing and interior design, it’s as popular as ever.
Medium grey
If you want your frame to be neither too bright nor too dark, this mid-toned anodized grey is the one for you! The profile is a popular choice for various applications, for pictures in black and white or colour alike.
Stainless steel brushed
This is the only HALBE profile with a smoothed surface, in combination with a certain degree of gloss. Depending on brightness and perspective, this frame can look either bright and shiny or darker and matte.
Chrome glossy
The polished aluminum profile is a HALBE classic. The shiny surface of the profile creates a contrast to the silver-matte surface.
Natural oak
Oak is one of the most traditional wood types used for frames and interior design in general. Unchanged in colour the moulding is merely protected by a transparent varnish with raw wood effect.
Black oak
With a matte varnish the wood moulding in oak black is the counter-part and a natural alternative to a black aluminum frame. The surface looks even, the texture has a visual and haptic appeal.
Natural maple
This brightly toned moulding has a comparatively subtle texture. For frames with a brighter moulding, natural maple is ideal and comes close to a slightly yellow-looking raw wood character.
White maple
Varnished with broken white, the elegant texture of the wood was left deliberately visible underneath the white surface. The more transparent varnish was used to let the natural character of the wood shine through.
Dark alder
Unlike bright alder wood the moulding is coloured brown. The surface is smooth and the wood structure clearly visible. The moulding is a popular choice for intermediate brown wood frames.
Brown alder
Alder brown is the second darkest HALBE moulding after oak black, and compliments the wide range of wood mouldings with its reddish tone. With its smooth and even appearance it’s the dark-brown alternative to black.

Wood 16
Used for small and larger frames: The Wood 16. The second of three HALBE moulding widths is always a good choice if you are looking for a top seller moulding with comfortable proportions. The slim alternative is the Wood 10, the wider model the Wood 20 or Wood 22.

Wood 20
The characteristics of wood are most evident in the widest variant of HALBE wood frames. Those who wish to emphasize on the natural look of the material, will be best served with this moulding – ideal for mid-sized or larger formats.

Wood 22
With the same width as Wood 20, the profile Wood 22 is even bigger in volume: The moulding is 40 mm deep and gives the frame and the picture a true three-dimensional effect on the wall. And like Wood 20, this moulding is perfect for XL formats of up to 1400 x 2500 mm.

Alu 6
When it comes to design, the Alu 6 profile is particularly suitable for smaller formats. This profile with slightly rounded edges is timeless and does not follow any trends. It looks more delicate than the edgy aluminum profiles.
Alu 8
The rectangular Alu 8 profile is a HALBE classic: slim and edgy, ideal for straight forward timeless picture framing. For a presentation in aluminum frames, the Alu 8 has been a top seller since the invention of the HALBE magnetic frame.
Alu 12
The Alu 12 is slightly rounded on the sides. Compared to the edgy HALBE profiles it looks smooth and well balanced.
Alu 14
The Alu 14 is the wider alternative to the slim Alu 8 classic: It has the same rectangular shape, but looks wider from the front, which gives this profile more presence and draws a clear line between the picture and its surroundings.
Alu 18
The Alu 18 is the optimum choice if you want your frame to get all the attention. Wider from the front and deeper toward the wall, the dimensionality of the frame is ideal for XL framing.
Wood 10
Wood is the most traditional material for picture framing. With a width of only 13 mm, the Wood 10 model is highly popular for picture display in a natural and subtle frame. Wood makes every frame unique.

Brown alder
Alder brown is the second darkest HALBE moulding after oak black, and compliments the wide range of wood mouldings with its reddish tone. With its smooth and even appearance it’s the dark-brown alternative to black.
Natural walnut
Wood frames are as unique as a finger print. Every frame has its own structure and colour. Walnut is one of the more lively wood types.

Wooden strips
Ash nature
The frame keeps its shade and is merely protected by a transparent raw wood effect lacquer. Ash natural is brighter than oak and more intense than maple. This type is suitable for nature photography or bold-coloured graphics and looks great with many different wall colours.
Ash black
Ash black is a bold and characteristic frame. It is more suitable for pictures that require a clear border between picture and picture environment. It has a warmer and more natural feel than black aluminum.
Ash white
Ash white is lacquered in opaque white with visible grain. The white tone is bright and clear, much brighter than the warm-toned maple white – ideal for works on bright white paper.
Gold matt
The shade of the fine metal is a synonym for the best. Not only in sports, but also in interior design, gold is a timeless accent colour. Following the success of the "Gold Edition", the Alu 6 profile with its matt anodised surface is now permanently available.
