Picture frame sizes and formats at a glance
Picture frame sizes are possible at HALBE from 13 x 13 cm to 2 x 3 meters. There are a variety of standard formats for picture frames. These have become established over time - due to popular picture formats - by frame manufacturers. In addition to the DIN formats, common standard sizes for picture frames are according to the picture ratios in 5:4, 4:3, 3:2, 1:1 or 16:9 format. Due to the higher demand and well-rehearsed production processes, standard formats are usually somewhat cheaper than individual frames made to measure. At HALBE-frames there are the following standard sizes as well as millimetre-precise picture frames made to measure - optionally made of aluminium or wood.

Select frame size and design picture frame individually
You can start directly with one of the following sizes in the picture frame configurator and design desired properties such as frame type, profile, colour, glass and passepartout individually:
Which picture frame size do I need?
The dimensions for picture frames are always the glass dimensions or the dimensions of the glass pane. If your picture has a size of 30x40 cm, should be fully inserted and no passepartout is needed, you also need a picture frame with the dimension 30x40 cm. The following therefore applies: frame size=picture size. If you would like to hang the picture with a passepartout in the picture frame, you must add the border widths of the passepartout. For the 30x40cm picture, for example, we add 7.5 cm on all sides for the passepartout. The picture frame would then have to be 45x55 cm. Our frame configurator will help you with this decision when choosing a passepartout and will give you a visually appealing suggestion.
All picture frames can be used in portrait format (e.g. 24 x 30 cm) as well as in landscape format (30 x 24 cm). Only with an optionally added picture lock BS1 and Display magnetic frame the orientation must be specified.
Your format is not included?
A standard format is not suitable for every picture, in fact this happens quite often. A standard format is usually too small or too large and simply does not fit the proportions. Especially if the picture is to be placed in the frame over the entire surface, a picture frame with exact dimensions is indispensable. That is why we offer you all picture frames individually made to measure. From 130 x 130 mm to 1200 x 1400 mm, you can order your picture frame in the online shop with millimetre precision. In addition, you can also order frames with a size of up to 2 x 3 meters made to measure by phone or email at HALBE. For both standard formats and individual dimensions, you can also order a passepartout made-to-measure picture frame. In the configurator you simply enter the desired cut-out and the desired border widths of the passepartout.
You need larger picture frames?
HALBE-frames is one of the few frame manufacturers who produce frames up to a size of 2x3 meters. In the online shop you can order large picture frames up to 120x140 cm. Orders for larger frames please send by mail to info@halbe.de or you give your order or inquiry by telephone under +49 (0) 2741 95800 to our customer service. They will be happy to advise you on the various sizes, profiles, colours and accessories.
At HALBE you can order classic wooden frames or modern and simple aluminium frames. The wooden frames made of solid wood are available with four different cross sections in the following four types of wood and in eight colours: natural maple, white maple, natural oak, black oak, dark alder, light alder, brown alder, natural walnut. The Aluminum frame are available in five different profiles - rectangular or with rounded edges in seven high-quality colour finishes: silver matt, white matt, middle grey matt, black matt, chrome glossy, stainless steel brushed and palladium.
The smallest frames in height and width are 130 x 130 mm at HALBE. They can be photo frame with the dimension 13x13 cm, 13x18 cm or 18x24 cm. A frame with the dimension 10x15 cm is therefore unfortunately not orderable, but as passepartout-cutout in a 13x18 or 18x24 photo frame possible. All other small versions such as 15x20 cm can be ordered in aluminum or wood in the frame configurator.
The special thing about HALBE magnetic frames
Magnetic frames from HALBE belong to the frame type of interchangeable frames, but can also be used permanently as a closed frame. The magnetic frame principle invented by HALBE-frames, which gives the magnetic frame its name, is unique in function and design. It allows convenient changing and framing from the front. Unlike conventional picture frames, you insert your pictures from the front: without turning and flipping, without springs and clips and completely without tools. Try it out!
