"The work 'ähnlich, allzuähnlich' (similar, all too similar) is a collaborative and conceptual work in which ten photographers from Germany and Switzerland who specialize in art reproduction have participated. Jürgen Meyer-Isenmann asked them to photograph his 2010 work 'Unmut dem Prinzip'. The photographs, printed at the original size of the object, make it strikingly clear that there can be no objective view of a work of art. In a way that is as sensually delightful as it is intellectually challenging, core artistic themes such as repetition and difference, original and likeness, identity and authorship are negotiated here." (Dr. Peter Lodermeyer, Bonn)

Participants were Lea Gryze and Jörg von Bruchhausen from Berlin, Christian Rose from Hanover, Michael Wittassek from Bergisch Gladbach, Dieter Schleicher from Karlsruhe, Marc Doradzillo and Bernhard Strauss from Freiburg, Roland Krieg from Waldkirch and Serge Hasenböhler and Christoph Kern from Basel.

The photographic work had its premiere at regionale 17, a tri-national exhibition of young art, at Kunsthaus L6 in Freiburg im Breisgau. Afterwards, the work was shown as part of a larger exhibition at the Georg Scholz Haus Kunstform Waldkirch.

Jürgen Meyer-Isenmann, born 1982 in Waldkirch, lives in Freiburg im Breisgau and deals in his work with various forms of pictorial relationships. Further insights can be found at:
