The DISTANCE magnetic frame is available in different colored anodized aluminum profiles as well as various types of wood in different profile widths. First and foremost, it is crucial where the art object will later find its place. In general, picture strips should never be too wide or compete with the picture or 3D object.

Each DISTANCE magnetic frame is made individually up to a format of 140 x 250 cm and optionally with 10 mm or 20 mm high spacer bars.The determination of the frame format depends on both the size of the artwork and the type of image presentation. A flat paper work can be framed both fully and with a passe-partout. The standard insertion depth under the spacer bars is 0 - 2 mm - on request it can be extended up to 14 mm.
A free-floating picture mounting without a passe-partout has an impressive effect, i.e. the picture is smaller than the frame and floats in the frame at a distance from the back wall and the glass. The aging-resistant, PAT-tested background cardboard of the DISTANCE magnetic frame acts like a passe-partout. The picture is thus visually lifted for the viewer.
3D artworks, just like free-floating paper works, require a larger background cardboard. The depth effect of this type of framing comes into its own perfectly if the background cardboard is approx. 5 - 10 % larger than the longest side of the picture.
In general, it is important to ensure that there is sufficient clearance between the glass pane and the object, i.e. the stronger the object, the higher the magnetic spacer bars should be selected. The minimum distance between the surface of the art object and the glass pane should be at least 5 mm. If it is no longer transported, 3 mm is also sufficient.

Not all glass is the same - framing a work of art with the right glass makes the enjoyment of art perfect. The DISTANCE magnetic frame can be made with different glass qualities, which differ in their properties. For the best depth effect and optimum sharpness, a glossy glass is recommended, such as the color-neutral and glossy white glass. If a reflection-free view with high UV protection is desired, the interference-optical anti-reflective glass Artglass AR 92 should be used. It protects the artwork or object 92% from UV radiation and thus prevents aging processes and color changes.
CONSERVO-DISTANCE magnetic frame - highest conservation framework conditions
HALBE offers the CONSERVO-DISTANCE magnetic frame for conservators and museums who require the highest conservation conditions. In this frame, the rear wall consists of an anodized aluminum plate that is firmly fixed to the sheet metal angle composite. The anodized sheet ensures perfect flatness, closes the back of the frame and stabilizes the entire frame construction. This means that a stable and relatively thick rear panel made of Klug corrugated cardboard is not necessarily required, but thin museum cardboard can be used and space is gained inside the frame. The CONSERVO-DISTANCE magnetic frame is available up to the 120 x 140 cm format with 5 mm or 10 mm high magnetic spacer bars.
