The B1 magnetic frame from HALBE (www.halbe-rahmen.de) is one of the first picture frames certified according to building material class B1, which has also passed the official test according to DIN 4102-1 for flame resistance without any compromises. The custom-made B1 magnetic frames are available in six different anodized aluminum profiles and five profile widths up to 120 x 140 cm. The magnetic frame principle allows children to frame their pictures from the visible side in seconds - without turning over, clamps or tools. The frame is removed from the front by pressing the glass with the thumb. The glass, picture and, if necessary, passepartout are then inserted from the front and then the profile frame is put back on - as if by "magic", the components of the magnetic frame pull together. That's it! Bright children's eyes are guaranteed.

At first glance, everyone thinks of anti-theft devices when they think of security, but fire protection is nevertheless of elementary importance - especially in public spaces. The devastating fire of Notre Dame in Paris in 2019, among others, showed us how quickly a fire can break out. In addition to perfect framework conditions, HALBE has never lost sight of fire protection. Developing a stylish magnetic frame that prevents the spread of fire and smoke as well as the start of fires was no easy task.
The 60-strong team succeeded in developing a picture frame certified to building material class B1. It not only puts pictures in the right spotlight, but also meets the official testing requirements for flame resistance according to DIN 4102-1 - without any compromises. Not only art connoisseurs appreciate the inventive spirit and the resulting implementation power. For the development of the B1 magnetic frame and the concept behind it, HALBE-Rahmen was awarded the Red Dot Design Award and nominated for the German Design Award.
B1 magnetic frames - available in different aluminum profiles and sizes
Whether in brushed stainless steel, shiny chrome or matt white - HALBE-Rahmen offers the individual production of B1 magnetic frames in six different colored anodized aluminum profiles and five profile widths up to a format of 120 x 140 cm. Due to its timeless design and multiple uses, schools often prefer a B1 magnetic frame with the Alu 8 profile in silver matt. "In addition to the large DIN formats from DIN A2 to DIN A0, people like to order frames in 50 x 70 cm, 60 x 80 cm and 70 x 100 cm," emphasizes David Halbe, Managing Director of HALBE-Rahmen GmbH. "All common paper formats can be presented well in these proportions. They are ideal for showcasing several small-format pictures in a large frame."
The use of a passe-partout is not absolutely necessary, since the basic element or the back wall of the B1 frame is always white. Removable self-adhesive products can be used to easily fix the sheets. Depending on the paper properties and size, the even glass pressure is often sufficient to hold the image in position without fixing.
Shatterproof glass for B1 magnetic frames
Children are often not "squeamish" about things. The solid and sturdy construction of B1 magnetic frames is designed for durability and frequent picture replacement. Each frame can be equipped with normal glass or shatterproof single-pane safety glass (ESG) with a glossy or one-sided matt surface. Especially in daycare centers and schools, the use of shatterproof glass is recommended to minimize the risk of injury. Should a mishap nevertheless occur, the toughened safety glass breaks into tiny pieces without sharp edges.
