Sustainability is also very important to us, which is why the leftovers are melted down again to make new glass. A special feature of this station is our grinding and washing facility. It is one of the most modern in Europe. Anyone who has ever cleaned windows knows how difficult it is to achieve a streak-free shine - we can do it thanks to this unit.
Dirk
I have been with the company since 1984. After my carpentry apprenticeship, I came to HALBE through my mother, who had been with the company for almost 25 years. Initially, this was meant only as a transition until I joined the Bundeswehr. This transition has now lasted 37 years. I started in the basic element team and I sawed plexiglass. Later I worked in shipping and then in the glass department where I have been for many years now. I attach great importance to cleanliness and flawless glass and satisfied customers. My favourite frame is a LED frame, which I always fill with my current photos. The best moments are those in which the humour never comes up short, even with all the work that has to be done.
We are Dirk, Anne and Winni and provide a clear view, with almost 100 years of combined experience. We cut offcut optimized the panes for all frames. First the glass is scored and then broken. After breaking, the edges are razor sharp. All edges are ground and then washed, so that you do not cut yourself when removing or inserting the pane. After washing, we check each glass again for defects, its quality and cleanliness. Now special care is required so that no new fingerprints appear and the frame is immediately ready for framing and hanging - without additional cleaning.
Anne
I have been working here since October 1993. I came into the company through my brother. In the beginning I worked in the final assembly and now for almost 27 years I am responsible for your glass. One of the most special times of the year is definitely April Fools' Day, you have to be on your toes. I care a lot about delivering clean, accurate and flawless glass. My favorite frame is not fixed on one, so over the years I have developed a photo wall that consists of many different small frames.
Winni
I have been working for the company since 1989. My connection to HALBE, came about through our mutual acquaintance Hugo Halbe. My tasks include the care of the outdoor facilities, the bending of the sheet metal for the sheet metal angles and now the glass. For me, cleanliness, speedy work and friendship are very high on the list. So a particularly nice moment was my 25th anniversary. At home I have one of the first passepartout frames hanging, which I still find very beautiful.
