THE CLASSIC AMONG THE TYPES OF MOUNTING
Insert a smaller picture in the passepartout without glue
Framing with passepartouts is one of the most classic types of framing. The picture is given a beautiful stage by the white delimitation and is shown to advantage. The picture is smaller than the picture frame and the glass does not rest directly on the object. The method to hold the picture in position only by the pressure of the glass is an extremely simple and at the same time high-quality way of framing.

This type of mounting is suitable for:
This method is ideal for flat paper work such as prints, photos, drawings and sketches, but also documents, posters, art prints and fine art prints can be beautifully framed with it. The glass does not rest on the picture, so it is particularly suitable for sensitive surfaces. Since no glue is used, the picture can be framed without residues and damage, which meets conservation requirements. Thus, it is also suitable for valuable works and originals.
This type of mounting is not suitable for:
This type of mounting is not suitable for very heavy work, as the image may slip, especially if the framed image is being transported. Furthermore, the method is not suitable for very small overlapping of the image by the passepartout and for corrugated papers and 3D objects.
Here's how it works:
1. Open and insert image
Prepare everything and open your picture frame. Then insert your picture into the basic element. It is best to lift the paper diagonally to avoid unpleasant creases.
2. Measuring
Measure the exact position of your image. Measure from all sides, from the outside, as paper doesn't always have to be exactly right-angled.
3. Fixing
Optionally, you can add a weight to your image in this step to prevent it from slipping.
7. Wipe
Use the cleaning cloth to wipe dust and unwanted fingerprints off the glass.
8. Framing
Replace the upper frame and press it down. The picture frame closes magnetically - conveniently and easily.
4. Using a passepartout
Now place the passepartout on your picture.
5. Clean
Use a hand brush to carefully remove dust and debris from the image and passepartout.
6. Glazing
Now place the glass back on the basic element.

9. Ready
The framing with passepartouts is timeless and stylish. Presenting your artwork and picture frame with this type of mounting is quick and easy, but still an absolute eye-catcher.
Tip
The colour of the passepartout should be a shade darker or more yellow than the paper of the picture. So the picture looks whiter, fresher and newer.
